7.3_7.4 Class Website

Hi Parents,

As you all know, we are off to camp this week on Wednesday. The weather is looking fairly nice for Wednesday and Thursday, but temperatures could still drop quite low throughout each night. As well, we've been told that the mosquitos are in full force out there so please have your child pack some bug spray and coach them on how to use it safely.  Long sleeves and pants will also be effective in reducing mosquito bites.  

Here is what we are up to on Monday and Tuesday.

Humanities: We are spending our time looking at geographical concepts as well as written language fundamentals. Students should be ready for a check-in on parts of speech when we return after the long weekend.

Math/Science: Students are wrapping up our Olympic Math Question… “Which country performed best at the Olympics?”  Students were asked to develop  their own criteria to answer this question and to justify/prove their findings with solid mathematical/statistical reasoning.  We will be sharing these responses in class tomorrow in order to finish this work before we head to camp.  

Electives: Students will be signing up for electives tomorrow using a google form. We've attached the updated electives list.

Emails: Over the summer, we transitioned to a new email server and have apparently had some challenges sending and receiving emails. We think we have it figured out, but if you send us a message and don't receive a reply within 24 hours, please send it again in case something has gone wrong.
